Dear Messrs. Little, Sadler, and Snyder,
I am writing in response to your feedback on my letter, "Time is of the Essence: Release Stanford Settlement Funds to Suffering Victims Now." While I understand your perspective on some points, I believe a collaborative approach focused on transparency, clarity, and victim well-being is crucial.
Addressing Transparency Concerns:
My letter raised valid concerns about clear and readily available information for affected families. While the Receivership website offers updates, additional communication addressing specific questions, like those raised in my letter, can significantly alleviate anxiety and build trust.
Unknowns and Proactive Planning:
Predicting court decisions is impossible, but providing insights into potential scenarios and the Receiver's general approach to navigating them would demonstrate proactive planning and help manage expectations.
Public Engagement Matters:
Focusing on the legitimate concerns I represent, rather than my motives or the size of my following, is crucial. The well-being of affected families transcends individual personalities. Open and consistent communication with all stakeholders is vital throughout this process.
Proposed Response Strategy:
Acknowledge and Empathize: Recognize the challenges faced by families and reiterate the importance of transparency.
Provide Specific Information: Address the specific questions raised in my letter and others, even if some involve unknowns. Highlight efforts undertaken and explain decision-making processes.
Outline Clear Next Steps: Communicate anticipated timelines and potential hurdles, demonstrating proactive planning and commitment to efficient progress.
Express Openness to Collaboration: Reiterate the shared goal of prioritizing victim recovery and express openness to working together with all stakeholders towards a swift and just resolution.
Ultimately, our shared goal should be a swift and just resolution that prioritizes the well-being of the victims. I believe working together towards transparency, clear communication, and a proactive approach will benefit everyone involved.
Sincerely,
Jaime R. Escalona
